Lewis Carroll discovered dream inside a dream way before Chris Nolan did and I don't understand why everyone was losing it over that movie anyway. I have absolutely nothing more to say and I am sure everyone who reads here is sick of rants of excessive complaints. This song is the ultimate best [new favorite (two) words] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cAQlDf9Vs0
Also, for everyone like me tearing their hair to find new music, http://audiomap.tuneglue.net/ Not that anyone cares, but I want to and need to and will, write soon.
Almost done with yet another set of exams that I wish I could have done differently. Found a new favorite song that is dedicated to all my friends. I want to get high and lie around and make baseless sentimental universal statements only to hear you all cry out in exasperation and joy. :D
I am not a political person, but some things go beyond being just political. I was working at Tehelka as a paid intern when I really became aware of what was happening in Kashmir. When I was first acquainted with Zahid Rafiq, I knew there was something different about him. He was...solid. You know how you seldom meet serious people? Not serious like boring. But people who lack frivolity, lack wasted thought, they seem to have encountered an impact and always make one, they lack the baseless indulgence in trivial matters that most of us spend our heart and souls in. Zahid didn't have the callousness and self importance of most people you see everyday. I knew why, when I read THIS. It is not a war between the government, the CRPF, the centre, Pakistan, The JKLF, the stone pelters, the moderates, the extremists, but like all wars, one between men. And as humans what we forget most of all is is what should be our first instinctive virtue. That of humanity. For Kashmir, I pray that there is some hope and this ominous helplessness finds a solution by some miracle.
I also hope that the RSS gets their extremist butt kicked by the very god they claim to be defending.
How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
That even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do.

You know in Bollywood, it's weird that kissing on screen is said to be slanderous but these guys practically DO IT with their clothes on. I was watching bits of Khamoshi a while back with ma, and this song (which as a kid i used to cry to at night) struck me as rather strange. Like Dude, what POSSIBLY could all the bending and weird faces be.
This, is probably most proficient proof of what I'm saying. Don't hate on this song. Raja Babu is some crazy shit and KK and Govinda are hilarious.
What moves, man!
This although is better than all the apparent 'real sex' that the new generations of the industry claim to be having on reel. But sadly, it is not real. The clothes are off but it's still just bending and weird faces. All of it looks like a practiced machine and it works for no one and it isn't even funny!! So PLEASE can we not have more Emraan Hashmi buying girls clothes and getting naked while watching them change. Or can we just wipe him off the face of the earth altogether? And can we also not have Gul Panag and Suhail Khan pretending to do it at the back of a car while he kisses her butterfly tattoo? (Refer Hello).
Indians think it's alright to scratch their balls in the middle of the road. We think that as Kashmir and Chhatisgarh are being torn apart and bridges are collapsing twenty days before an international event - it's time for sports!('Where's your national spirit man!?,I was told). We pray to moortis of Amitabh Bacchan even though the man clearly doesn't come close to divine continence. We think that sab 'ho jaayega yaar'. We think that it's okay to kill, and die, using religion as a cause. We think it's okay not to vote. We think it's alright to drive drunk. We think killing to save dishonour, is honourable. I think it's the undying, baseless faith in bhagwan ji, and the booze, that makes our friends and countrymen absolutely delusional. The Big B (Yuck man that's just wrong) and Sallu are lucky they're Indian cause they wouldn't be superstars, even gods, in any other land. I mean, who cares if he kills rare species of antelopes for fun? He brings to us some real bad-ass ninja moves to make up. Dabangg by the way, is an excellent film and captures the perfect irony of Salman Khan and Bollywood. It also has excellent cinematography and is a lot of fun.
Since this is the next generation who reveal scandalous secrets over coffee with Karan, please stop with the grotesque pretend intercourse, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham rona dhona mera beta ghar aa raha hai (aa aaa aaaa ), psychotic daughter in laws faking pregnancies and plotting murder, Akshay Kumar surrounded by various bimbos who he beats now and then, and get down to some real shit! Not that I really mind anything that's going on right now...but it's just a thought.
I think these guys had it all right, though.
Agar apna ma ka doodh peeya hai to saamne aa
I fail to understand what ever happened this man? How is possible to change from being such a gangsta to such a chutiya? The answer, lies in sleeping with your son's wife.
(This thought is taken from and dedicated to BFFF-Queerfishy)
I am aware that I hardly make sense or arrive at any conclusions in this post, but I always find it hard to take a stand when it comes to apne bhai log from B to the wood.
Today after very long, I facebook-ed more than required and let it get to the point of physically possessing me. After which I felt sick. Any sufferer or recovered of the disease will understand what I'm talking about. But just about last month when I wanted to quit once and for all, I found a good enough reason(it really is) to stay. Which sucks.
Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver is so excruciatingly hot that it makes me want to cry.
Failing one more exam on Monday and making no contribution to the world with writing useless garbage but whogivesashit.
Like my friend Mohit, likes to say, quoting from Risky Business- sometimes in life you've got to say...WTF!!
I think Shakespeare would have been as much of a legend if he had JUST written Iago. A character written more than four hundred years back, and he still managed to send a shiver down my spine as I for the first time actually read the play. Iago's clear motive of destruction of all things beautiful and good, without any real personal gain does probably make him the only evil I have encountered in fiction. There's also the Joker,of course.
In the internet lives satan's own soul. I spent all day watching Anthony Hopkins as Othello on youtube, and suddenly found myself on Josh Hartnett speaking about dating Lucy Liu David Letterman show. (He played a charecter inspired by Iago in a high school adapdation of Othello called O). When my mother walked in on me searching 'Josh Hartnett shirtless' is when she established that whatever I was doing was not educational, as I had claimed it to be. I also spent a good amount of hours dancing to Glee videos (my source of chicken soup for the soul) with my sister after which I am in a familiar situation of feeling like my head is splitting open, about 50 tabs of essays are on google chrome, drinking half cups of coffee and feeling nowhere close to asleep. I feel like all I know for my paper tomorrow is that diablo is spanish for devil, but I have been reading (almost) all day so that cannot be true. Pre examination unprepared wallowing never gets old. (Even though it is getting a bit repetitive on the blog, I know. As are bracketed side-notes).And the dangerous part is that I've begun to enjoy it. I found not one, but three exam songs.
Like my friend Queer Fish would say about Kishore Kumar. 'Kya aadmi hai dude!!'. And The Stooges are the real crazy motherfuckers of all time. Also, if anyone is interested in pulp fiction short stories or just really great illustrations (and I mean REALLY great), please check out the Tehelka Pulp Noir special that is out this month.
PS: It's so cold it feels like the freakin end of the world. Without Jake Gyllenhall around to make it better. (Refer worst fim EVER- The Day After tomorrow).

I have realized that with my artistic handicap, I must NOT MESS with the fucking design template. Especially countable hours before my exam. Now my blog looks like white trash and I am still where I was an hour back with studying.
I want to scream.
But I will listen to Layne Staley and descend into the deep depths of hell.
And as Sartre said- Being (becoming) comes from, nothingness. (Till now, I only know the title of the essay I'm about to-hopefully, read) So I can excuse my complete lack of knowledge for tomorrow's paper and be proud to be(only right now because I'm setting off on a highway to hell, remember!?)...nothing.
An hour back I started receiving the usual D.U pre exam messages. 'Half of what yu read is waste! Half of da rest yu didn't understand! Half of what yu understand u wnt remember! Half of wt yu remember won't be asked! Enjoy ur exam! :P'
Sorry to break it to you dudes, but I DO understand, and I will remember, and nothing I have read is waste. And I don't love exams, but not for the same reasons 'yu' don't. After studying Western Philosophy for two days continuously, and having my usual 'WHOA,MAN!!' moments of illuminated epiphany, I am still, only half way through my course. I hope I live to see the day when at 9 PM before the day of the exam, I am done. And revising!! An experience I have sadly never encountered. But I realized I don't mind the studying so much. Plato and co are really onto something, man. I want to say what but I have no time. As I stare at my third cup of horrible concoction that I claim is coffee, I know I should get back to the books. I'm also filled with the usual hostility for the guide reading morons who know NOTHING of what they have read but will eventually, still go on to wave their 60 something percentage in my face with a smug smile.
Reading Kant, listening to revolution, smoking and feeling rather...enlightened. But then momentary delusional confidence is what being in college is all about. As my friends (who I have realized are the best people in the world) like to put it- Hum kitne sahi hai.
From the best December EVER, to hopefully a year of more eloquence, adventure, and surprising myself on different fronts.
(Also, I need an exam song. It has to be...you know...comforting. Please contribute)
Look, so pretty! :D
He is everything I want to be, and everything I want to be with. Franco, forever.
